Off grid with their own food, animals, power, water and waste disposal – a West Wales eco-community develops businesses to save their homes, their future.

Broadcast on BBC1 network prime time 2020 reaching over 2 million viewers, Saving our Ecovillage follows the community of Brithdir Mawr near Newport, in their daily lives and their attempt to raise the cash to buy their own homes.

The owner will put the farmhouse, converted cowshed, detached eco houses and 85 acres of land on the open market with a price tag of £1 million unless the residents can raise the money to buy him out. They juggle the demands of part time jobs, three are keyworker carers in the pandemic, while looking after children and running volunteer weeks.
